We have been using roentgen therapy in carcinoma of the breast since 1901, but, as this report is based on private cases, our records extend only from June, 1902, to June, 1926, which gives us 939 cases which have passed at least a three year period since the beginning of treatment. We have used only our private records because the cases in the hospital records have not been sufficiently followed. Every medical observer has recognized the disappearance of both primary and recurrent malignant disease located in various parts of the body as a result of the action of the x-rays. All observers have also seen primary, recurrent and metastatic disease from carcinoma of the breast disappear. Gradually, the results from larger clinics are being reduced to statistics since beneficial results in individual cases are too common to excite interest.
