Comparison of Ultrasonic and Pneumatic Intracorporeal Lithotripsy Techniques during Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy

Abstract

We conclude that both ultrasonic and pneumatic lithotripters are effective and safe for intracorporeal lithotripsy. However, the ultrasonic lithotripter provides higher stone-free rates with similar morbidity compared with pneumatic devices.
