In the present report, the results are described of kinetic experiments of phosphorus reaction in a molten CaO-Li20-SiO,-FeO-Fe20, slag/Fe-4.40/~molten metal/Ar-O, gas (Po,=0-0.2atm) system. The ex- perimental temperature is 1 300'C and the slag-metal bath is stirred by an eccentric alumina stirrer (rota- tion speed, R=30-300rpm). From the experimental results, it is found that dephosphorization rate in- creases with increasing the oxygen partial pressure of the Ar-O* gas atmosphere. The change in thc stirrer's rotating speed does not affect the dephosphorization rate obviously, while rephosphorization rate increases with increasing the stirring speed. It is also shown that maximumphosphorus concentration ratio, (("/.P)/[o/P])*,*, obtained at the time point when the phosphorus reaction changes from dephosphoriza- tion to rephosphorization, increases with the increase in the ratio of ferric iron to total iron of the slag.
