An account is given of a subfertile male carrying a ring Y chromosome in his blood. Meiotic investigations revealed that the X and ring Y chromosome remained unpaired at diakinesis, and maturation arrest between the first and second meiotic divisions was observed. The possible causes of the maturation arrest are discussed.
