Abstract

Making use of a combination of metal–ligand coordination interactions and solvophobic forces, an oligomer based on phenylacetylene incorporates Ag+ ions to form a highly ordered helical structure. The space-filling model shown makes clear the trigonal-planar coordination environment at silver.
