OMERACT is an international network founded in 1992 to improve outcome measurement in rheumatology. It is chaired by an executive committee that holds consensus conferences every two years worldwide, with expert working groups preparing and updating data‑driven recommendations. The resulting recommendations provide core sets of measures for major rheumatologic conditions, and since 2002 patients have been actively involved in the process.
