Abstract Compounds cis-[Pt(PPh 3 ) 2 (3-X-C 6 H 4 ) 2 ] [X = F, Cl, CF 3 , CH 3 O, (CH 3 ) 2 N] and cis- [Pt(PPh 3 ) 2 (3-X-C 6 H 4 )(Y-C 6 H 4 )] [X = F / Y = H, 4-F, 4-CF 3 , 4-CH 3 O; X = Cl/Y = 4-F; X = CF 3 /Y = 4-F; X = CH 3 O/Y = 4-F] have been synthesized and studied thermally with respect to the reductive elimination of disubstituted biphenyls. Activation parameters ⊿H≠ and ⊿S≠ are reported and discussed.
