AbstractAbstractUsing an X-ray microanalyser the chemical composition was determined for σ phase precipitating in type 310 austenitic steels with varying carbon and silicon contents and for type AISI 316 steel stabilized with titanium. It was found that the range of σ phase stability, estimated by average group number, depends on the presence of additional alloying elements.
