Progressive cardiomyopathy can be assessed quantitatively in the recipient twin and does not influence pregnancy outcome when fetoscopic laser coagulation is the first-line treatment. Compared with the current staging, cardiac profiling allows discrimination of cases with significant myocardial dysfunction.
