Abstract We have developed new Wide‐band Retardation Films (WRF) by using molecular design technologies, and started to manufacture them. The single retardation film has reverse wavelength dispersion, which means a smaller retardation value with shorter measuring wavelengths. The characteristics and applications of WRFs are described.
