The effects of uniaxial stress on the Neel transition in chromium are investigated theoretically using renormalization group methods. A stress-induced tricritical point is predicted in the case of compression along (110), but not for the other cases considered. A general n=18 component model applicable to chromium in the absence of stress and magnetic anisotropy is also considered.
