Abstract The resistivity of indium films has been measured in a magnetic field at 4.2°K and at 1.4°K. The measurements were done with the magnetic field both parallel and perpendicular to the plane of the films. In both cases the magnetic field was perpendicular to the current. The results are compared with similar measurements on aluminium films. The amplitude of the Sondheimer oscillations was found to be much smaller in indium than in aluminium, while there was no significant difference in the MacDonald effect.
