Abstract

Abstract Laboratory studies conducted on the effect of wetting agents on infiltration rates indicated that ( 1 ) a wetting agent can increase infiltration rates into hydrophobic soils but have either no effect or adverse effects on soils which are not particularly hydrophobic; ( 2 ) the wetting agents used in the study produced a beneficial residual effect; and ( 3 ) the wetting agent is not completely leached from thatch.
