Abstract

By general arguments it is shown that the dominant contribution to the magnetic resistivity ${\ensuremath{\rho}}_{\mathrm{mag}}$ of a metal is due to the short-range spin fluctuations and hence that $\frac{d{\ensuremath{\rho}}_{\mathrm{mag}}}{\mathrm{dT}}$ should, in the static approximation, vary like the magnetic specific heat.
