Abstract

Ultrasound is progressively being recognized as a new powerful tool for the surprising yet effective gelation of organic liquids and water by supramolecular gelators, the diversity of which is discussed in this Highlight article, as well as the key concepts of sonocrystallization and mismatched intra-/intermolecular interactions, driving self-assembling events to newly ordered materials.
