Highly efficient parametric amplification of optical beams. I. Optimization of the profiles of interacting waves in parametric amplification

Abstract

It is shown that complete conversion of the pump wave energy into amplified waves may be achieved for a specific relationship between the profile of the spatial–temporal modulation of a seed signal and the pump. Numerical calculations are used to find the maximum conversion efficiencies for waves with different spatial–temporal modulations.
