Neutron-electron spectroscopy of rare-earth ions

Abstract

Magnetic cross sections for transitions between J-multiplets of rare-earth ions are calculated exactly. Results for Sm3+ and Sm2+ are distinctly different, which is potentially cross section is presented that is not as reliable as its elastic counterpart.
