Abstract

Reduction junction: Tetranuclear yttrium polyhydride complex 1 reduces coordinated CO in transition-metal complexes to give novel heterometallic oxycarbene, oxymethyl, carbene oxo, and methyl oxo complexes (see scheme). The reaction patterns depend on the nature of the transition-metal carbonyl complexes. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting Information”.
