A Note on the Oblique Matrix Pseudoinverse

Abstract

In a paper by Chipman a unique weighted pseudoinverse of a matrix A is defined in terms of symmetric, positive definite matrices U and V. Later Milne defined a unique oblique matrix pseudoinverse of a matrix A in terms of isomorphic images of the null spaces of A and $A^T $. In this paper the sets of oblique and weighted pseudoinverses are shown to be identical.
