Abstract Unsymmetric bile pigment analogs of mesobilirubin‐XIIIα and mesobilirubin‐IVα were synthesized following oxidative coupling of dipyrrinones: methyl xanthobilirubinate with kryptopyrromethenone; methyl ψ‐xanthobilirubinate with kryptopyrromethenone.
