Abstract

The thermal conductivities of three specimens of highly pure aluminum have been measured in the temperature range 2 to 20\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K. All specimens showed maximum conductivities in the temperature range 14 to 17\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K. The measured values are compared with the theory of Sondheimer. The number of effective conduction electrons per atom is found to be 0.061.
