Two coumarin glycosides previously isolated from Daphne acuminata Royle have been shown to be daphnin and daphnetin–8–β–glucoside. The value of 13C–NMR spcectroscopy for the identification of coumarin glycosides is demonstrated. Its use in characterising the glycosidic moiety and confirming the 7, 8– coumarin substitution pattern of daphnetin–8–β–glucoside, a previously reported constituent of D. acuminata, is shown.
