Preparation of a New Class of C2-Symmetric Chiral Phosphines: The First Asymmetric Staudinger Reaction

Abstract

The synthesis of the first C2-symmetric phospholane, (2R,5R)-1-phenyl-2,5-dimethylphospholane (10), and its use in an enantioselective Staudinger reaction (reduction of azides with phosphines) is reported.
