Collapse and fragmentation of isothermal gas clouds

Abstract

A numerical method to study the evolution of collapsing, isothermal gas clouds in three dimensions is described and tested. The method is used to follow the fragmentation of an initially spherical, rotating isothermal cloud through a global bar-like mode.
