Synthesis and Molecular Structure of Two Zinc Complexes of 1,2‐Bis[(trimethylsilyl)imino]acenaphthene

Abstract

Abstract The reaction of 1,2‐bis[(trimethylsilyl)imino]acenaphthene ( 1 , tms‐BIAN) with ZnCl 2 and ZnI 2 in THF and Et 2 O afford (tms‐BIAN)ZnCl 2 ( 2 ) and (tms‐BIAN)ZnI 2 ( 3 ), respectively. The compounds 2 and 3 were characterized by IR‐ and NMR spectroscopy as well as by single crystal X‐ray analysis.
