CoPt and FePt3 bimetallic nanowires were produced in the inner cavity of TMV by reducing K2PtCl4 and (NH4)2Co(SO4)2 or K2PtCl4 and (NH4)2Fe(SO4)2 using NaBH4 under ultrasonic irradiation. The nanowires obtained using the molecular ratios of Co2+:Pt2+ = 3:1 were mainly composed of CoPt and were ferromagnetic.
