The adsorption of ammonia gas on CuBr was investigated by manometric and microcalorimetric measurements. The adsorption isotherm initially indicates the existence of species of composition CuBr·NH3. A second region in the isotherm corresponds to the physisorption of NH3 molecules on CuBr-NH3. The enthalpies of adsorption decrease with increasing surface coverage from around 58 kJ mol−1 in the first region to about 50 kJ mol−1 for the second.
