The relativistic double photoeffect

Abstract

The double photoionization of the atomic K shell ( alpha Z<<1) by high-energy photons is considered. The interaction between the electrons is included in the lowest order of the perturbation theory. The energy distribution and the total cross section are calculated. The other double-ionization processes are discussed.
