Abstract

Abstract The new ruthenium(II) complexes, [RuCl(Me2SO)(TPA)]X (X = Cl or PF6) and [Ru(BPG)Cl(Me2SO)] were prepared, and the catalytic activity for alkane hydroxylation using m-chloroperbenzoic acid was examined.2 Two geometrical isomers of the TPA complexes were isolated and showed marked difference in activity: the trans(Cl, Namino) isomer is the most active and selective catalyst toward the oxygenation of adamantane giving 1-adamantanol (75%) and 2-adamantanol (5%).
