Hypercalcemia in Disseminated Coccidioidomycosis

Abstract

Infectious diseases are seldom considered in the differential diagnosis of hypercalcemia.1 , 2 Bacterial, and perhaps viral, infections have only rarely been associated with an elevated blood calcium, and this complication does not seem to occur in fungal diseases.3 , 4 In the three patients described below disseminated coccidioidomycosis was associated with hypercalcemia..
