Gauge fields on a lattice. II. Gauge-invariant Ising model

Abstract

We study the case of a discrete local gauge group ${Z}_{2}$ in order to discuss the existence of a transition in dimension $d\ensuremath{\ge}3$. We compute the critical constant for $d=3 \mathrm{and} 4$ and show that in three dimensions the transition is a second-order one.
