A group of 4621 well women has been screened for the detection of early breast cancer by clinical examination and thermography, with mammography when the initial screening indicated the need for further investigation. The detection rate for early breast cancer is 5.8 per 1000. False negative and false positive results are discussed. Cancer 33:1664–1670, 1974.
