Abstract

Abstract Clay modified electrodes are characterized and optimized for their analytical use in ion‐exchange voltammetry using Ru(NH 3 ) as a test ion. The effect of electrolyte concentration on the conductivity of the film, the time for signal development, the amount of clay coating, and rinsing procedures are investigated. The linear range of the clay‐modified electrode was found to be four orders of magnitude, and 100 pmol of the complex were sensed.
