First-principles theory of nonradiative carrier capture via multiphonon emission

Abstract

Understanding interaction of charge carriers with defects is important for improving performance of semiconductor devices. Researches now present an determination of nonradiative carrier capture rates at defect centers. Several capture rates are computed, with reasonable agreement with experimental information.
