We conclude that repetitive apnoeas/hypopnoeas are very important factors in the development of both LV diastolic dysfunction and diastolic systemic hypertension in patients with OSA syndrome. Treatment with nCPAP leads to significant improvement in both ventricular function and systemic hypertension.
