Abstract

The structural characteristics of low-temperature waxy crude are important to the pipeline transportation, especially the destruction of the structure and the recovery of the structure. The authors experimentally studied them with the strain-controlled rheometer, and the experimental data indicated the effect of isothermal holding time on the structure was little, and it verified Wardhaugh and Boger's view about the yielding behavior of waxy crude, but it also showed the yielding behaviors strongly depend on the strain rate. In addition, some typical characteristics about the recovery of the structure were obtained.
