Synopsis Apparatus comprising a special machine and furnace is descrihed which enables tests involving high-temperature exposure and compressive loading or restraint to be undertaken on small concrete specimens. Details of the instrumentation and proving tests are given, together with sample results for the stress-strain curve of concrete in compression at high temperatures and some data concerning relaxation of stress under conditions of constant strain.
