Abstract The monomer reactivities of p ‐trimethylsilylstyrene and p ‐trimethoxysilylstyrene have been invertigated. In both cases e is equal to the e of styrene. The former has a Q equal to that of styrene but the Q of the latter substituted styrene is about 40% greater.
