Abstract

The risk of developing lymphedema after undergoing sentinel lymphadenectomy was measurable but significantly lower than after undergoing axillary dissection. Tumor location in the upper outer quadrant and postoperative trauma and/or infection were identifiable risk factors for lymphedema.
