An analysis is carried out of general aspects of the construction of three-dimensionally growing structures with an organic or an inorganic skeleton. Problems in the synthesis of novel polymeric forms based on organosilicon monomers are examined. Ways are discussed for overcoming steric effects in the surface layer, caused by the characteristics of the formation of three-dimensionally growing structure. The bibliography includes 27 references.
