We present a photolithographic route to form colloidal particles of uniform size and nonspherical shape. We demonstrate the induction of tunable, shape-selective interactions among these particles based on depletion, van der Waals, and electrostatic forces in aqueous dispersions. Under appropriate conditions, the particles self-assemble into ordered, highly anisotropic structures.
