Self-avoiding walks interacting with a penetrable internal plane are investigated as a model of polymer adsorption at a liquid–liquid interface. The problem is closely related with the effect of a defect plane in a magnet. The critical exponent δa which is identical with the inverse of a surface crossover exponent φ, is estimated at 1.70±0.05 from the exact enumeration data for up to 20 steps on the tetrahedral lattice. The values of several other exponents are also estimated from the data; they are in agreement with the corresponding values for semi-infinite system except for γ. We correct the previous relation 1−ν=φ given by de Gennes and Bray and Moore.
