The treatise offers a reliable, well‑illustrated overview of eye and orbit anatomy in domestic animals, based on original dissections. It is intended mainly for veterinarians and experimental ophthalmic surgeons. The book is organized with the first five chapters covering general vertebrate ocular anatomy, followed by species‑specific chapters on dogs, cats, horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, and rabbits. It also has a remote interest for neurologists.
The authors have provided a "reliable treatise on the anatomy of the eye and orbit in these (domestic) animals." This work is based with minor exceptions on original dissections. It is well organized and superbly illustrated. The first 5 chapters deal with the general characteristics of vertebrate ocular anatomy, and successive chapters were devoted specifically to the dog, the cat, the horse, cattle, sheep, the pig, the goat, and the rabbit. The book is intended primarily for veterinarians and experimental ophthalmic surgeons. It has a remote interest for neurologists.
