Abstract

Abstract In the present work, mass transfer coefficients of main natural-gas components, methane and ethane, are determined during the hydrate formation. A complete explanation is given to show that the liquid mass transfer resistance at the gas-liquid interface predominates in the process. A fast and precise model has been also proposed to predict the rate of gas consumption. The advantage of the developed model is that there is no need to use fugacity and flash calculations in water-hydrate phase. Keywords: ethanegas hydratekineticsmass transfer coefficientmethane
