K₆[Si₂Te₆]—Synthesis and Structure of the First Tellurodisilicate

Abstract

Isolated [Te3Si—SiTe3] units are present in K6Si2Te6, which was prepared by fusing a mixture of K, Si, and Te (3:1:3). Si2Te3 also contains Si2Te6 units but they are two-dimensionally crosslinked to form an infinite double layer.
