Sex and strain influence the effect of ethanol on central monoamines.

Abstract

Our findings indicate strain and sex differences in monoamine response to acute doses of ethanol, and further implicate (via changes in DOPAC) presynaptic mechanisms in the effects of ethanol on dopamine.
