Two cases of lipomatosis of the abdomen presented as extramural tumors and were identified by gastrointestinal barium studies or lymphangiography. Computed tomography provided direct evaluation of these masses and proved that they were due to lipomatosis rather than other tumoral disease. Surgical exploration was thereby obviated in both patients, one of whom was considered a poor surgical risk.
