Rapid and mild synthesis of [Re2(CO)10] by reduction of [NH4][ReO4] at atmospheric CO pressure

Abstract

With a view to accessing radiopharmaceuticals based on 186Re and 188Re, a simple, efficient and rapid synthesis at low CO pressure of the key complex [Re2(CO)10] from [NH4][ReO4] using (Me2CHCH2)2 AlH in toluene as reducing agent has been obtained.
