Abstract Several samples of cis ‐tactic polybutadiene prepared by stereospecific catalysis and having a cis unit content of about 98%, were fractionated by fractional precipitation techniques. Some of the central fractions obtained were examined by viscometric, osmotic, and sedimentation methods in dilute solution. [η]– M relations were determined for benzene and toluene at 30°, and for isobutyl acetate at 20.5°C., the latter solvent being at ϑ conditions. Configurational parameters of unperturbed molecules and interaction affinity in good solvent were calculated and are compared with those of known hydrocarbon polymers.
