Why Aren't They Here? Student absenteeism in a further education college

Abstract

abstract Fifteen different types of reasons for student absenteeism are investigated. Factors to do with courses and teachers are found to be the least significant. There is some evidence that students’ general degree of commitment to education may be the most important factor related to levels of absenteeism.
